What does it mean to be on fire or to be ignited … charged up … fired up … suh-mokin’, etc.? Or another way – to burn with a passion for something is like eliminating/burning up/shedding all other things except for the passion.It is the same as idolatry UNLESS the focus of the passion is God and His Kingdom.What ways do you shed off God in place of things you are more fired up for? All of us do it … and it really should be quite shameful. If we stop and look by at the time we have eliminated God in our lives for a moment of passion for other people, things, ideas or events … isn’t that the same is worshiping someone else? Ouch. God help me.
Scenes from our “Gift Hunting” expedition

Recently some of our men at church gathered to go hunting.
Here are some pictures from the expedition .
First we start out with what the Claim Jumper calls … a ‘widow maker‘ and a hugenormous plate of nacho’s.
Then we … well, eat it.
Then we put on our expedition attire?
All in all, we spent more time in the restaurant then we did in the “hunting grounds“. When we got there it was ….

Homeschool

Many of you know that Mer and I homeschool our kids (OK really, Mer does).
We are not isolationists, we don’t se our own clothes, we use modern language and modern Bibles, we don’t picket churches, we do socialize, we don’t think the public school system is evil. Yada yada … please enjoy this video.
Christmas time is here …

What a great day to celebrate that Jesus came down to earth, to live a perfect life, willingly sacrifice himself for our sins (taking our spot), raise himself up from death 3 days later (showing ultimate power), returning to heaven not because of death but to sit at the right-hand of God and to mediate for us. That is something to celebrate for and all the gifts and the time with families are small shadows of what is to come — ultimate gift of eternal connection with God in heaven.
Colorful Candy Coated Popcorn recipe

This is one of my favorite recipes for the holidays.
Ingredients:
- Two bags of microwave popcorn (butter flavored)
- 1/2 bag of Wilton candy melts (or choice of melts and your choice of color)
Preperation:
- Pop popcorn, remove unpopped kernals, place popcorn in large bowl.
- Melt candymelts per instruction on bag.
- Pour melted candy over popcorn and stir/toss until coated thoroughly.
- Pour coated popcorn onto wax paper and allow candy to set.
- When completely cooled, you can package as desired … or just eat like a pig.
